Cubot One MTK6589T Review Compare with HTC ONE

My Cubot One bought from coolicool finally arrived yesterday morning. Phone is not for me but for my sister. I decided for him because he have 4.7 “HD screen, quad-core cpu, nice appearance and the possibility of using HTC One masks.

What is In the Box:

Hard white box straight-edged with name “CUBOT” on top and “white silver” sticker on the side which means the color of the device. By the way, that I ordered black Cubot One and got the silver color is not important at all.

In addition to smartphone in the box are two batteries of 2200 mAh, headphones, USB cable, charger, armor made of hard plastic and an additional screen protector. On the screen is already foil and it is placed so well that i could not have put it better.
DESIGN AND ERGONOMICS :
Cubot One look identical to the HTC One. Most people agree that the most loyal copy of HTC One is CUBOT One. There are few things that are different and you can notice in the pictures below. I was counting on it that i will be able to use the mask of HTC One but unfortunately this is not possible. Specifically, the power button is on the opposite side, volume keys also. Obviously CUBOT is not exactly identical copy of HTC and I did not pay attention when i was choosing.
The device is made of plastic but of very good plastic. The lid comes off similar to the Samsung Galaxy devices. The pressure on the front and the rear side will not lead to a “ripple” effect on the screen. Which also shows that the production is excellent. Capacitive keys are uneven illumination. Button illumination can be seen through the USB port below. Like most Chinese smartphones, even this device does not have notification LED on the front side.
Cubot One vs HTC One

As far as ergonomics, if you have hold in your hands HTC One, you held and CUBOT One also.SCREEN The screen is indeed a pleasant surprise because I did not expect the same to be so good. At maximum brightness is not much worse than the HTC One. Even though I could not tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on these two devices.

WI-FI Great wifi signal while is in hand, same as HTC. When it is on the table it loses a signal. What I was pleasantly surprised that the connection to the access point works faster than HTC One.SOFTWARE Version of the Android is 4.2.1. Surprisingly, the bloatware was virtually zero and there was not Chinese applications installed.PERFORMANCE In fact, the speed of the applications (YouTube, game as Temple Run) is a great feeling but themselves while at home screen and menus OS is very strange. No lag, no stutter but as the FPS is lower than it should be. From benchmarks I only run Antutu and got around 13500 points as well as other devices with the same cpu.
CONCLUSION
With CUBOT One I was pleasantly surprised because this Chinese smartphone is very solidly made. With decent performance, excellent screen and a very good price.
Good:
- Excellent screen
- Performance
- Design
- Price
- SD card slot
- 2 SIM
Bad:
- The screen is not protected by Gorilla Glass
- 1GB of RAM (for the same money some manufacturers already provides 2GB RAM)
- Non-fluidity of menus and homescreen’s (this is a manner of speaking, it should not be that way)
- No notification LED
- Lighting capacitive keys is poorly resolved
- Sensitivity of the same could have been better
- Not supported 900MHz frequencies for 3G (as with most other Chinese devices)
